Simple Cancer Detection Method – Use Yogurt!

  • Previous screening methods for colorectal cancer were including injection of certain molecules, and the new method does not include the invasive part, and it’s using modified bacteria from yogurt.

Scientists from the Institute of Technology of Massachusetts came to a simple method that detects cancer, which includes only yogurt and urine test.

Professor Sangeeta Bhatia managed to develop molecules that act as biomarkers in the detection of cancerous cells in colorectal cancer. If those molecules are drunk together with the yogurt, they will find their way do the cancer cells, where the enzymes are broken down to small particles and are ejected from the body through urine.

All you need is a small piece of paper to collect these particles.

Previous screening methods for colorectal cancer were including injection of certain molecules, and the new method does not include the invasive part, and it’s using modified bacteria from yogurt.

Tests were carried out on mice, while in the clinical tests in human; this method would be shown as an extremely simple and cheap in detecting this evil disease.

According to the American association against cancer (ACS – American Cancer Society), only 40% of people with colorectal cancer have early diagnosis of this disease, due to insufficient examination.
